Wireless Airfield Lighting, IKEA Rooftop Array, Ascent Solar Charging Sun Tunnel has introduced the VELUX solar roof window (pictured), which provides an energy-efficient way to add daylight, fresh air and cooling to buildings. The solar roof window requires no wiring, can be installed in any direction and is fully operational even with indirect light. An acoustic rain sensor system automatically closes the skylight in the event of inclement weather, and without the need for electricity, the skylight can be closed even in the event of a complete power outage. Sun Tunnel claims its skylight lets in twice as much daylight as a vertical window without compromising privacy. The solar skylight can be ordered with one of eight factory-installed shutter options and comes fully operational with one unified remote control.
As part of a $175,000 public offering, the U.S. Marine Corps has Canada Mobile Database selected Carmanah Technologies' solar airfield products, including runway edge and threshold lights, taxiway lights, obstruction lights and mounting hardware, for deployment in support of the Combined Joint Task Force. Horn of Africa. The Carmanah A704 wireless runway edge lights, A650 taxiway lights and A650 obstacle lights eliminate the cost of cabling, and mobile lights are also immune to network outages or instability. Solar products feature remote monitoring and control, infrared capability, and high-intensity technology optimized for northern latitudes. In 2013, Carmanah supplied hundreds of taxiway and runway lights to U.S. Air Force bases in Colorado, Kansas, Arizona, Mississippi and Delaware. In 2012, Karmana released the A704-H; High intensity solar LED airfield light, meeting medium intensity runway lighting and high intensity runway lighting standards up to 500 candela (white). It also supports infrared night vision goggle modes and is ideal for use on permanent or temporary airfields and helipads, as well as backup emergency lighting systems.
IKEA has activated a solar energy system installed at its distribution center in Perryville, Maryland. The 768,972-square-foot rooftop photovoltaic array consists of a 2,674.9 kW system consisting of 18,576 panels. The IKEA distribution center will produce approximately 3.4 million kWh per year. This installation represents the 36th completed solar power project for IKEA in the US, with three more projects underway, bringing IKEA US solar power to nearly 90 percent of its US locations with a total capacity of 38 MW. IKEA owns and operates each of its solar photovoltaic energy systems on the roofs of its buildings, rather than under a solar lease or power purchase agreement. IKEA contracted with Inovateus Solar to develop, design and install the solar power system for the Perryville distribution center.
The entire Ascent Solar Technologies EnerPlex line of consumer solar integrated products is now available at all Fry's Electronics retail locations, as well as online. EnerPlex provides consumers with charging solutions for portable electronics. Surfr, a line of phone cases with built-in solar panels and batteries, allows users to charge their phone anywhere and in case of emergency. Kickr charges most USB-enabled devices. With the introduction of the Jumpr line of portable power banks, consumers now have a complete, integrated solar-powered charging and storage solution while on the go.
